High View House
NPAS were appointed to design a contemporary four-bedroom dwelling, High View House, on a steeply sloping garden plot in Berrynarbor. The new home, built into the raised site, features a striking white render finish with expressed gable forms and feature glasing that offers panoramic views of the surroundings.
Warm timber doors and a timber balcony add balance and warmth to the material palette, while the landscaping creates a staggered entrance that integrates seamlessly with the sloped site.
MORE
High View House has been designed to harmonise with the local context, with a footprint of 159.7m² on a 676m² site. The architectural styling, subtle use of materials, and colours ensure the dwelling complements the existing homes in the area. NPAS has incorporated sustainable drainage solutions (SUDs) to manage surface water effectively, and the site is connected to mains foul water sewer for efficient utility management.
The planning strategy included utilising an existing secondary access with two designated parking spaces, the design respects the scale and character of nearby dwellings while maintaining privacy through mature tree screening. NPAS’s thoughtful design and planning strategy deliver a contemporary yet contextually sensitive home that blends modern living with the natural beauty of Berrynarbor.
